Pharrell Williams shells out $15.6M for Tyler Perry's palatial Beverly Hills mega-mansion... just SEVEN months after the film-maker bought it for $14.5M
He's enjoyed a prominent position in the music industry over the past two decades, thanks to his keen knack for churning out a string of infectious hits - as a rapper, singer and producer.
And Pharrell Williams, 45, is reaping the rewards that his prolific career has afforded him, by snapping up a Beverly Hills mega-mansion from film-maker Tyler Perry for an eye-watering $15.6 million.
The seven-bedroom, 11-bathroom hilltop home was only purchased in October by Tyler, who stumped up $14.5 million for the property, before putting it on the market in February with an asking price of $16.995 million
Bargain? Pharrell Williams, left, got himself quite the discount, as Tyler Perry, right, put it on the market for almost $17 million
While he just missed out on getting his asking price, the star - who counts media titan Oprah Winfrey among his circle of esteemed friends - still made more than a cool $1 million profit in a matter of months.
Happy hitmaker Pharrell's new palatial three-storey abode is spread over 17,245 square feet and sits on the highly sought-after Beverly Hills stretch of elevated and scenic Mulholland Drive.
Set in almost 4.25 acres of land, the modern, glass-fronted home - built in 1992 by the late Alfred E. Mann - offers an extreme level of privacy and overlooks the city's rolling canyons as well as the upscale enclave's skyline.
Pharrell, who bought a home in Los Angeles' Laurel Canyon in 2015, will have plenty of space to enjoy his new abode with wife Helen Lasichanh, whom he married in 2013, their 10-year-old son Rocket and one-year-old triplets.
The star, who performed at Sunday night's Billboard Music Awards, teamed up with his N.E.R.D for the December release of their album No One Ever Really Dies, which features collaborations with a host of stars, including Rihanna, Ed Sheeran, Kendrick Lamar, André 3000, M.I.A, and Wale, among others.
Tyler, who has three-year-old son called Aman Tyler with his girlfriend Gelila Bekele, will hardly be stuck for options on where to move to next.
He currently owns an even larger mansion in the exclusive gated Beverly Ridge Terrace residential, as well as a massive home in Fairburn, Georgia, which he had custom built back in in 2001.
News of his big potential sale comes months after it was revealed that Tyler is replacing a new van for a Georgia church after their's was stolen before a Sunday service.
Members from the Lighthouse Community Church in Stockbridge, Georgia, said that when they arrived, the only thing left behind were pieces of a shattered window.
The 15-seat van was used to transport the area's children to various church events and was essential in its usage by Lighthouse.
Church administrator Cindy Smith told WSB-TV that after seeing a report from the station, Tyler called her to share that he had bought them a new van.
