Malabu $1.1 billion Scandal: Ex-Nigerian oil minister, 12 others set for trial in Italy

                                                   Former Minister Dan Etete, the man behind Malabu     A week after he was charged by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in Abuja, Italian authorities have indicated their intention to file criminal charges against a former Minister of Petroleum, Dan Etete, for his involvement in the $1.1 billion Malabu oil deal. The prosecutors filed the notice in a Milan court last week, PREMIUM TIMES can report. The  EFCC slammed a seven-count charge of money laundering and fraud on Mr. Etete  and others on December 20 at the Federal High Court, Abuja. Apart from Mr. Etete, another Nigerian identified as Chukwuemeka Obi, is also among the 11 individuals to be charged by the Italian authorities. Shell and Eni are also to be sued, indicating a total of 13 defendants. Mr. Obi and his firm, EVP, had laid claim to about $110 million of the $1.1 billion paid by Shell and Eni for OPL 245, considered Nigeria’s richest oil block. The

Miami woman accused of kidnapping and robbing a dozen people arrested, police say

Police said the women pointed a gun at the victim, demanded that she get in the vehicle and drove her to a Wells Fargo Bank branch in a neighboring city to withdraw cash.  Miramar Police Department Half of the female duo suspected of a kidnapping and robbing a dozen bank patrons in Miramar has been arrested, police said. Miramar police believe Charice Hubbard, of Miami, is responsible for a dozen instances where she and another woman kidnap people and have them withdraw money from ATMs at gunpoint. Pastor Adeboye's Endorsement Of Gov. Ayo Fayose And Its Contradictions

 On December 24, 2016,  the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Pastor Enoch Adeboye paid a visit to Ekiti State. Since it was supposed to be a religious program the man of God held religious rallies at Ado Ekiti, Ilawe Ekiti, and Ogotun Ekiti. He also called on Governor Ayo Fayose who entertained him and gave him a "gift" on behalf of the government and people of Ekiti State. In appreciation of the gift, Pastor Adeboye prayed for the governor.  The governor later accompanied the Pastor to the palace of Ewi of Ado Ekiti, Oba Rufus Adejugbe. Man excretes 45 wraps of cocaine at Lagos airport

A 37-year-old importer of electronics, Achebe Chuks David, has excreted about 45 wraps of substance that tested for cocaine. The suspect was arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) at the departure wing of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Ikeja, while on his way to Hong Kong for ingesting cocaine.  Another suspect who lives in Athens, Greece was also apprehended in connection with unlawful possession of wraps of substances that tested positive for cocaine.  The arrests were made at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA) Lagos during screening of passengers on an Ethiopian Airline flight to Hong Kong and Egypt Airline flight to Athens. Preliminary investigation suggests that the suspects had targeted the Christmas holiday to smuggle cocaine out of the country but drug law enforcement officials at the Lagos airport were able to uncover their plan. Budget 2017: FG to spend N432m on cars for ex-presidents

ABUJA—The Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) has allocated the sum of N432. 193 million for the purchase of cars for the nation’s seven former Presidents/Heads of State and four Vice Presidents. The figure also included funds for the purchase of vehicles as contained in the proposed 2017 federal budget. Specifically, for the Procurement of vehicles for the seven former Presidents and Heads of State, the sum of N280.099 million was set aside, while the President Muhammadu Buhari administration has proposed N120.090 million for the purchase of cars for the four former Vice Presidents. This is a far cry from the N2.3billion the Federal Government proposed to spend on the 11 former leaders and families of those who are dead, in 2016.
