A Michigan elections panel has certified  Donald Trump  as the winner in the state's  presidential election , according to The Associated Press. Trump won the state by 10,704 votes — a mere two-tenths of a percentage point — the tightest presidential race in the state's almost 200-year history. The result pushes Donald Trump's total to 306 electoral votes to 232 for  Hillary Clinton . The Michigan State Board of Canvassers unanimously certified the election results shortly after 2 p.m. today. This year was the first time in almost three decades that a Republican presidential candidate won the Wolverine State. Wisconsin and Pennsylvania, two other Rust Belt states that helped deliver an upset White House victory to Trump, went red for the first time in roughly the same period. As yuletide draws close, a lot of people will be receiving bags of rice from their employers, friends and well wishers. You can identify if your rice is fake by carrying out any of the simple tips below: When moulding a few grains of rice with a mortar and pestle, if the powder gives a quite white colour, you are good to go but it has a yellow discoloration, your rice must be expired. You know what plastic smells like right? So, get a lighter and burn a handful of rice. If it catches fire and smells like burnt plastic, you have fake or expired rice. Get a glass of cold water. Pour a tablespoon of raw rice in the glass and stir. If the rice goes to the bottom, it is all good. If it floats at the top, be careful because it means it contains ‘plastic rice’. Do not eat. Boil the rice. Leave it in a warm place for like 2-3 days. If mould does not appear in a few days, your rice is fake and should not be consumed. It will not get mould because plastic is not affected by the weathe

Aviation authorities said there are reports of at least six survivors, with a local mayor confirming at least three passengers were found alive. A wka —SECURITY has been beefed up around the Awka Prisons following last week’s alleged attempt by some unidentified people to cause jailbreak in the area. There was unusual presence of both uniformed and plain clothes security operatives in the area and visitors to the prison were thoroughly searched before being allowed into the prison during the weekend. The jail break rumour was said to be connected with the presence of high profile detainees from Abagana community in the prison, who were currently facing trial over their alleged involvement in the destruction of police property during the clash between Abagana and Ukpo communities over a parcel of land on their border. The detainees have been attending their trials in court from the Awka Prisons and there had always been so much tension in Awka whenever they were being taken to court.  Lawyers differ over ex-president’s remarks Former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s recent statements are aimed at bringing down the government of President Muhammadu Buhari, the House of Representatives said yesterday.
