The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr Fatai Owoseni, has led senior officers of the Lagos police command to an emergency meeting with the traditional rulers in Ikorodu to end the menace of the dreaded badoo group.

The meeting which saw the Lagos Commissioner, CP Fatai Owoseni, the DC (CID), DCP Bolaji Salami, the Area Commander Ikorodu, ACP Garuba, the Commander RRS, ACP Olatunji Disu and other DPOs met the Obas and other traditional representatives in Ikorodu and its environs discuss collaboration of the residents and the police to end the menace and also to put a stop to the ill-fated jungle justice penalty melted at suspected badoo members by the residents.

The police boss emphasis the need to put suspected badoo members under a proper scrutiny rather than engaging in a mob action which could defeat the opportunity of screening and interrogation that might give meaningful information to the police.

Also, jungle justice can as well lead to killing of the innocents without proper confirmation, which can be regarded as murder of the innocents.

The meeting is also geared towards upholding a neighbour watch approach which could also help in the security alertness of the residents in curbing the menace of ritual killing which has besieged Ikorodu residents over the months.

Residents are also advised by the CP to endeavour to know their neighbours and be more security conscious.

It will be recalled that the Lagos State Police Command have uncovered a shrine believed to be that of the badoo group.
