The EFCC has re-arraigned one Usman Baba Yusuf (a.k.a Usman Dakingari) and Balarabe Abdullahi for cloning the phone number of Abdulmumini Bako, a former Special Assistant to the former Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Abdullahi Dikko Inde. The defendants were arraigned before Justice D. Z. Senchi of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja on a 4-count charge of impersonation and obtaining by false pretence to the tune of N2million. The re-arraignment followed the arrest of the 1st defendant (Yusuf), who had been on the run after the EFCC granted him administrative bail in 2016. Yusuf was however, arrested on March 24, 2018 in Kaduna after he had been declared wanted by the EFCC, on the order of the court. Apparently, rapper DMX got a lighter sentence after a judge heard his rap song in court. During the rapper's recent sentencing, his attorney played the judge "Slipping" an old rap song by DMX and it is believed this helped reduce his sentencing from a possible 5 years in jail to only 365 days. Below is how Boston 25 is reporting it: "A judge heard a DMX rap song before adding his own lyrics to a court proceeding on Wednesday, ordering the rapper imprisoned for a year in a tax fraud case. U.S. District Judge Jed Rakoff took requests, accommodating DMX's desire to hear his autobiographical hit "Slippin'" before DMX faced the music over his admission of guilt. The judge called DMX's fraud a "brazen and blatant" crime that could not go unpunished. The lady pictured above, who lives in Sapele, Delta State, attacked her ex-boyfriend with a razor blade and nearly decapitated him.. The incident reportedly happened on Tuesday night, March 27. It was learnt that the man had slapped the lady for constantly talking bad about him to his mother and siblings. In retaliation she attacked him with blade. A good Samaritan rushed the victim to St James Hospital located at Amukpe, where he is currently receiving treatment. The Federal Government has released a list of some Nigerians alleged to have stolen from the nation’s treasury. Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, released the list during a press conference in Lagos today Friday, March 30th. Among the names released on the list are those of PDP chieftains currently facing trial for corruption and financial crimes. The decision by the APC-led government to reveal the names of the alleged looters and the funds allegedly stolen is in response to the opposition party, PDP’s, challenge to the government to name those alleged to have looted the country and destroyed the economy. “The PDP has challenged us to name the looters under their watch. They said they did not loot the treasury. Well, I am sure they know that the treasury was looted dry under their watch. Yet they decided to grandstand. The Kogi state police command says anywhere they see embattled Senator Dino Melaye now, they will arrest him. This announcement comes after this morning's jailbreak at the 'A' Division Lokoja where two suspected assassins linked to Melaye fled police custody alongside four other ciminals. A statement by the state police commissioner, CP Ali Janga, says the six fleeing criminals, Dino Melaye and Mohammed Abubakar, son of former Kogi state governor Abubakar Audu, will be arrested anywhere they are seen. The command added that it has also alerted INTERPOL. '' Consequently, all the six suspects, Senator Dino Melaye and Mohammed Audu were sent for watch listing and red notice by the INTERPOL for immediate arrest any where we see them. The Command hereby appealed to the members of the public to assist the Police with useful information on the whereabouts of the suspects by reporting to the nearest Police Station.
